Social Worker

Social Worker started this conversation

I am a 24 year old female with a graduate degree in Social Work. I have two jobs working in child welfare and mental health to get by on the basic needs of life. I have always been a hard worker and a good citizen including working 3 jobs to get through college. I am always helping others and trying to improve the child welfare system as well as trying to figure out who I am and what I want in life. I am now discovering who I am as a person and learning to love myself. I want to know who I am before I chose to get married and have children. I want to help improve my community and am always on the go trying to find "the answer" to making our world a better place. I love life and feel lucky to be alive and healthy! I am trying to buy a home and am having little luck b/c I work for a low salary and do not have enough money for a down payment. If I recieve help with a down payment I will pay it forward when I am older to help someone like me- someone who has always done the right thing and worked as hard as possible but doesn't make enough to own a home!

I can't believe that you would have any trouble, here in dallas area there are so many deals on reality. Bank repos, HUD homes, 1st time home owner deals, 0 down  0 movein just take on mnthly payments, or fixer uppers. Because of your community assist experience should have some sort of effect on your ability to get a home. That a good example of how I believe that in life and in the rights to be given certain benefits, it is time that we as human beings should be treated and given things based on our character, morals and ethics. Not nationality, gender, or race. Because it seems to me that if all you have to use to get a free ride or opportunity in life, is your nationality, race, or gender then you are not worthy of being given anything. Earn the right to be given a benefit, be a good and decent human being, show pride and respect. honest and hard working, thats what should be how this world judges its eligibility to get assistance.

YOU ARE A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT DESERVES TO GET EVERY BIT OF ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE. Try getting a grant for help in that area.

Hello, my name is DeRhonda and I am currently seeking my BA in Social Work. I was hoping I could ask you a few questions about social work. What do you do on a daily basis? How many hours do you average a week? What are some of the issues you deal with, and how is communication important in the career of Social Work? I have a speech to do on the career of my choice and we have to interview someone (in person, or email) that is credible. I would really appreciate it if you could help me. If you can't I'll understand, but thanks so much for your website, and your time!
